Surbiton Raceway sits on the Riverhill Estate in Worcester Park, on the south-western edge of Greater London, and is run by Surbiton Town Sports Club rather than a commercial karting chain. Three physically separate tracks serve three age bands — Bambino, Cadet and Main — giving the venue an unusually clear structure for families with children spanning several ages. The circuit has hosted a filming day with Formula 1 driver Lando Norris, a connection the venue references directly on its homepage.

The Bambino track takes electric karts with speed limiters from age 4, each fitted with a second seat so a parent can ride alongside a young child who wants company on track. The Cadet track, 300 metres long, uses Sodi LR5 petrol karts capped at 25mph from age 8, with a minimum height of 1.3 metres. The Main track, 450 metres, is where older juniors and adults race, and hosts the three-tier system described below.

Rather than a single adult product, the Main Track runs a structured pathway. Drivers aged 12 and up start in a Youth & Family Session using governed BIZ EVO 2 karts capped at 30mph. Drivers aged 15 and up, or 12 to 14 year olds who have completed at least three Youth & Family sessions and set a lap time under 30 seconds, can progress to the ungoverned SODI RT10 kart reaching 50mph — for 12 to 14 year olds this runs as a dedicated Unrestricted Youth Session with no adults present, while 15 and over race the same kart in standard adult sessions. Qualification is judged on track discipline, knowledge of racing flags, steering, racing line, speed and overtaking, and successful drivers earn a Surbiton Raceway race licence.

Four kart types cover the age range. The Bambino Formula K electric kart is capped at 5mph for the youngest drivers. The Cadet track's Sodi LR5 runs a 140cc four-stroke petrol engine at 4bhp, reaching 25mph. On the Main Track, the BIZ EVO 2 is a governed 200cc petrol kart at 6.5bhp, capped at 30mph for the Youth & Family Session; the SODI RT10 is a 270cc, 9hp petrol kart reaching 50mph, ungoverned, for licensed youth racers and all adult drivers.

Bambino: age 4 and up, no stated height minimum, maximum 4 karts on track. Cadet: age 8 to 12, minimum height 1.3 metres, maximum 8 karts (a maximum of 8 may be booked, with up to 9 on track including staff or trial karts). Main Track Youth & Family: age 12 and up, minimum height 1.5 metres, maximum 12 drivers. Main Track standard sessions: age 15 and up (or licensed 12-14 year olds), minimum height 1.5 metres, maximum 14 drivers. None of the Main Track or Cadet sessions are exclusive bookings — between 1 and the stated maximum number of other drivers may share the track at the same time.

All sessions must be booked in advance through the online booking system — walk-ins are not accepted under any circumstance. Every driver, or a parent on behalf of a young driver, must pre-register before arrival, separately from booking the session itself. Drivers must arrive 30 minutes before their track time for the mandatory safety briefing; arriving late risks losing track time entirely, with no refund. All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable regardless of the reason.

Gloves and balaclavas are compulsory for every driver. They can be brought from home or bought at the track — gloves cost £2.50 a pair and balaclavas £3.50 each. Drivers may use their own helmet and safety equipment instead of the venue's, provided it is approved by the Race Director and meets the appropriate standard, with a full-face helmet and visor required; the venue accepts no liability for loss of personal equipment or for any injury where personal equipment may have contributed to it. Action cameras such as GoPros are permitted on a driver's own helmet, though the venue does not supply helmets with camera mounts fitted.

Trainers or similar closed-toe shoes are required — sandals, crocs and sliders are not permitted. Loose, comfortable clothing that can be worn under a race suit is recommended. Alcohol or drugs before driving are not tolerated, and anyone judged to be under the influence will not be permitted to race. Bringing a personal kart to race is not allowed, due to the venue's insurance policy.

As an outdoor circuit, Surbiton Raceway operates in all conditions except severe snow or fog. Spectators are welcome at no charge, though children must be supervised at all times, and dogs are permitted on site only while kept on a lead.

Free parking is available on site. The circuit runs seven days a week throughout the year, closing only for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day — though the exact midweek hours currently differ between two pages on the venue's own website, so confirming the correct hours directly before a midweek visit is worthwhile until this is resolved with the operator.
